Most of all Banglatown is part of  a Detroit neighborhood that has been shaped by migration through the different decades whether it has been turn of the century European, African American migrating from the South, Polish Immigrants, Arabs as well as more recent an influx of Yemini and Bangladeshi community.

Amenities / Procedure

Living at the FILTER Detroit house means sharing and caring. The invited research resident(s) will have a private bedroom/workroom situation. The garden, kitchen, bathroom as well as communal/living room is shared with the permanent Detroit FILTER resident(s). The permanent resident(s) is able to provide orientation and everyday information - but he/she is not your personal tour guide, just your roommate, which means you are responsible for every day duties such as cleaning up behind your back or securing the house before leaving. The workroom of FILTER allows for research work - it is not a workshop with tools nor a painting studio space. Yet it can  be used to sketch out projects or host small presentations.
